We're back in San Diego after spending a day across the Bay in Coronado. It's time to head back to our lodgings and get cleaned up for a fine dinner. The "Urban Trees" series was planned to include 30 sculptures in all. However, one of the artworks wasn't ready when I visited -- the base and center pole were in place, but nothing else. I've seen a picture of the proposed work, so I knew what it would look like when it was completed.

However, the series was just installed, so I might have another chance to visit. Maybe next spring ... I hope so.

In the meantime, I hope that you enjoyed seeing these wonderful "Urban Trees!"

Artist's statement: "This musical tree plays as the wind blows, with assorted sizes of copper tubing suspended from branches creating the symphonic element. It is painted with green and brown patinas that will deepen over time and protect and enrich the sculpture."
