Burnt down in 1932. Rebuilt in 1999. Since the mill is situated in a city, it had to be built on top of another building in order to catch the wind. The original mill, the one that was burnt down, was built on top of the remnants of one of the towers belonging to the city walls, surrounding Haarlem and protecting it against invaders.<br /><br />The river Spaarne with all kinds of boats.
