She passed away after a sudden illness on Jan. 30, 2007 in Athens, Ga. She graduated from Glennville High School in 1970. She received her B.S. Degree from Georgia Southern in 1973, her Masters of Education from Augusta College and her Specialist in Education from University of Georgia. She began teaching in Lincoln County School System in 1973 and taught there until 1997. After moving to Hoschton, she continued her career at Ft. Daniel Elementary School in Dacula. She was a teacher there until 2002 and then became an assistant principal. She was the Techer of the Year for Ft. Daniel and one of the six finalist for Gwinnett Public Schools in 2001-02. She retired in 2005 but continued to work part- time at the school. She was an advocate for children all of her career and was highly regarded as an expert about the developmental needs of children. Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Jack Delaney Tootle. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Paul Mims and daughters, Delaney Mims, Atlanta, and Lindsay Mims, Athens; mother, Earldine Tootle, Glennville, sister & brother-in-law, Beverly and Bob Price, Prattville, Al.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frances and Billy Mims, Lincolnton; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Beth and John Fazio, Martinez, nieces an nephews, Ashley Hall, Whitney, Hillary, Annabeth and Tyler Fazio and Great-nephew, Fleming Hall. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Chruch, Lincolnton. Jennifer will be remembered for her love for her family, children, and the Georgia Bulldogs. Funeral services will be held Thurs., Feb. 1, 2007 at 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, Lincoln County with Rev. Paul C. Reviere officiating. They have lived in Jacksonville since 1986. She was an account specialist for Crowley Maritime and a member of Terry Parker Baptist Church. Pat had a great love of her children and grandchildren who affectionately called her 'Mimi'. She was a loving friend and a blessing to all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
