formerly of Richmond Hill, died April 2, 2007 in Beaufort, SC. She was born March 29, 1910 in Keller, GA, the daughter of John I. Butler and Sarah Phillips Butler. She was the youngest of eight children. She and her husband Frank owned Ditmeyer's Grocery on Old Ogeechee Road for many years. She was a member of Bryan Neck Presbyterian Church, Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church, Daughters of the Confederacy and Bethel-Burton Homemakers Association. She attended Grays Hill Baptist Church after moving to Beaufort in 1994. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husbands Francis "Frank" Ditmeyer and Bradley McQueen Smith; brothers, Clarence, Charlie, John, Teddy and James Butler and sisters, Jennie Butler Kassel and Sadie Butler Goette. Her two daughters, Marjorie Ann Ditmeyer Fawcett and Barbara Jane Ditmeyer Dalton Smith Lawson also predeceased her as well as a grandson David Tracey Fawcett and great-grandson, Ryan Donovan Gallagher. She is survived by grandsons, Mark (Karen) Fawcett of Beaufort, SC, Keith (Laura) Fawcett of Taylorsville, GA, Linda Dalton Gallagher of St. Simons Island, GA, Paul (Maria) Davis Smith of Wisconsin, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren also survive.
