((My father worked in the Icelandic embassy in Oslo for 20 years, so I have been going back and forth between Iceland and Norway since I was 3 years old)).<br />-Ahh, but..... -Oh well, weŽll see.... :-p<br /><br />-Regarding the pictures from the trip, I must confess that I wasnŽt really paying much attention to my shooting. Most of the pics were just holiday snapshots, really. And then thereŽs the weather. The sun shone very brightly every! day (yi-haa)! :-) Wich was great for me, generally speaking, but not so much photographically. The white louvered structures are the air intake filter houses, connected by ductwork to each turbine. Below each filter house is the generator. Each turbine is to the left of the generator, partially behind the exhaust stack. This plant is known as a "peaker" because the units can be started up and shut down quickly to respond to changing electrical loads. Duke Energy sells the power to Commonwealth Edison (the local utility) or to other utilities elsewhere on the grid; thus this type of plant is known as a "merchant power plant."
