My garden, which has been snoozing most of the summer, is finally seeing vegetables reach glorious ripeness. My "deconstructed salad" consists of sweet 100s, slices of lemon cucumber, and blanched chilled green beans, all from the garden and all drizzled lightly with preserved lemon oil. Today, Denise and I picked the first batch of tomatoes from our garden, And what better to use them for than Denise's famous homemade spaghetti sauce. And yes, she is Italian (Sicilian) and no, she will not give out the recipe! Forget about it!!!! Here is the finished product, ready for future eating! This process will repeat itself many times before the summer is over.
