I'm posting another image similar to the last because I need to make a (BIG) correction. The white, powdery insect is not a mealybug. On the contrary, it is a ladybug larva and is an aphid and mealybug predator. It's thought that the waxy powder coating affords some protection against ant stings as the ants try to defend their aphids.
