Late afternoon at the point. The lake is known as the "Gin House Lake" as there was a cotton gin located here during the mid-1800s. THE BEGGING MUSCOVY DUCK

A small pond close to where I live is home to many Muscovy ducks that are almost constantly fed by the many frequenting the area just to look at them as they are stately when swimming in the pond. I also visit the area, not to view the ducks, but to watch the various wading birds that also visit the pond.
During one of my visits, one of the ducks approached me for food. When I didn’t offer any, it dropped flat on its belly raised its wings and extended its neck with its mouth wide open and began to crawl along the grass. All the time hissing as Mucovies do. It was actually begging for food. Instead of feeding it, I took its picture.

Very Large Great White Egret

Without exaggeration, I assume this Egret would have measured approximately four-feet from bottom of its feet to the top of its head. As I was taking this photo, it took off.
