Seit über 500 Jahren wird auf diesem Platz Obst, Gemüse und Geflügel verkauft.
Der schmale Platz entstand 1277; als Graf Meinhard II die Tore und Mauern der Stadt niederreißen und die Gräben zuschütten ließ.
