These stinkers were ALL OVER the fence that was in front of one of the houses. I didnt know they were there!! I walked up, and wanted to try a shot that required almost a full second shutter spd, and I didnt have my tripod with me. So I was like HEY!! Hiking trip just outside Reykjavik with friends from Norway.

Búrfellsgjá canyon is a 3.5 km long lava pathway running westward from the small volcano Búrfell.
The canyon was the channel through which red hot magma flowed when Búrfell erupted and the lava reached up to the edges of the canyon.
When the eruption ceased the lava channel was left empty.
The lava is estimated to be some 7000 years old.

We are now in the fourth year of a drought, there are water restrictions in the Guadalhorce Valley where the orange and lemon crops grow.
They say this year the water level in the three lakes here is only at 20% and that the water restrictions are likely to be extended to areas further up the coast.
This year in the spring the flamingo's abandoned their breeding season at Fuente de Piedra because of the lack of water there......

Along with "Little Ollie" I double teamed with him on the "Special Rigs for Special Kids" event this year, taking photos for the organiser and anyone that wants them. I took over 1000 shots on 2 cameras, which gave a good choice of shots,along with Little Ollie's of course, for the organiser to look at. It was a fantastic day for all and as Ollie stated at one stage, the smiles were on the faces of the kids all day.

I stopped in at the Record Searchlight today to get a bunch of copies of Tuesdays Paper since I found out that one of the RC Plane pictures I submitted had been printed in the actual paper!

WEEEEEE First printed picture!!!!!!

of course Nina noticed a pet picture contest is going on right now and so we had to pic a picture to put up.... I think this one is pretty good... i fixed it up a bit... original is actually up on smokey's page right now http://www.fotothing.com/lisasam67ssmokey - the winner gets their picture on the front of next years calendar and $250 worth of goodies.

They are calling it Pet Idol after the American Idol show I guess hahaha...

anywho... it sounds kinda neat... they charge $15 for submissions but what the heck... why not. They print the pictures up in the classifieds for a few weeks and readers vote for their favorites and the field gets narrowed down.... will be interesting to see how far we make it.... GO RIKI! lol

This afternoon, I am bringing Mrs. Jomoud home from the hospital.

I have not been on FT for awhile as we experienced some scary episodes. However, over the last 2 days I finally saw some of the many get well messages that many of you sent. Thank you sooo very much.

yahhh, I know, it's blurry...but it was almost night and I had a glass of wine so... Anyway, yes, I have a mirror on my ceiling hahah!!! This is hanging on the cathedral ceiling of my porch. It's 42" wide and very heavy. You should have seen me trying to hang it...balancing the thing on my head while trying to put screws though metal! LOL!
