I thought i would do things a little different -- by telling you the story behind this photo -- i took this photo about 18 months ago, I been made to go shopping and after about 20 shoe shops-i had had enough- -and was moaning and complaining, and
was told -- stay there - and i will be back for you in about 15 minutes.. HA/HA /ha, fine i thought !.

That was when a I saw this guy sitting on the bench, i went over ,
and started talking to him, he was very grumpy and mumbling a lot , in a little while I decided to make a move , i stood up and took the loose change out of my pocket,
it was about 6or7 pound, i gave it to him he quickly shoved it into his pocket, Then i said is there any chance of me taking a couple of photos of you, he did not say NO he just

Why does the bulb light?

Basically the little black box is a controller. It allows the solar panels to charge the batteries. However! When the batteries are near fully charged the controller dumps the excess power to another load!

Dump load... being the 100watt 12 volt bulb!!! This saves the batteries being overcharged and you never need to worry about them...

It was great topping up my batteries today!!! I have them fully charged,but in a few weeks i`ll have my system running properly!!

I just need some heavy iron to put the panels on so they dont get stolen...

Panels now in my hall.until I have them locked to a grid of steel or iron fixtures.

Same foggy morning as in the previous photo (this morning around 7AM). I was walking the dog around the pond and thinking "Why don't I get out of bed early every morning". That's the back of my house of course and the shallow end of the pond in the foreground. I don't know the name of the big grassy stuff growing in the water....probably in the papyrus family of reeds??? Water level is low, due to lack of rain. If you look very closely to the right side of the picture toward the front of the house, you might be able to see the warm pink cherry blossoms from the previous photo. This is from a spectacularly memorable off-road trip I and a good friend of mine had with my mother´s husband´s off road jeep. (I used to borrow this impressive vehicle from time to time) ;-)

We found a trail on some old maps.
On newer maps however, it wasn´t even marked! (Uh-oh)...
But we tried nonetheless...

In this shot, I am about to cross a small river. This is quite high up in the mountains.
The trail we tried to follow, snaked from the national park Þingvellir and crossed over high mountains and eventually one would be able to get down to Hvalfjörður (Whale-fjord).
The trail is called "Leggjabrjótur". That means "Legbone-breaker"! (sp?)
In some places (as here f.ex.), the trail was quite visible, but as I mentioned, it wasn´t even marked on newer maps! And as we found out, that was for a good reason! ;-)
Because parts of the trail were completely nonexistent! We couldn´t see any trail at all recently before we found this crossing. We had just been driving up a mountainside, and we tried to guess where the trail would have been by looking at the old map. Sometimes we did find some parts of it though. But at other times, we were basically just driving on a mountain with no trail at all visible anywhere! There had definitely not been any vehicles there for decades, that´s for sure!
