The Round Barn again: Built in the early 1880s, the French Round Barn is not actually a barn but rather an enclosed corral designed to break horses during the high desert’s harsh winters. The inside of the barn is uniquely made from juniper posts and lumber that was hauled from over 60 miles from the north. Inside this structure is a circular stone corral sixty feet in diameter and two feet thick. The barn remains much as it was in Pete French's day with some minor repairs to the outside and roof.
